Your motor has a drive belt with teeth and gear like pulleys.

This means the motor always starts form the same position and eventually the armature bands will get a burned spot. This may not be your problem but if you step on the pedal and nothing happens try turning the hand wheel to change the needle position.

Step on the pedal again and if she goes your motor has a dead spot. It could be a lot of things, dry bearings ect., but I am seeing more of this now with the computerized machines.

If it should be the motor, don't toss the machine, the motor is available as a replacement for about fifty dollars. Bob Answered on Feb 05, 2018 28 views. Hello, I have two of these machines and I can tell you how to remove the nose cover. There is a single screw that holds it in place but how you get to it isn't obvious. Looking at the machine from the front, lift the handle, look for the left pivot pin and about 1 inch away (looking down onto the machine) you will see a small hole. There is the screw and unfortunately it is a Torx which looks like an astrix (*) and a regular screwdriver won't fit.

If you look at the screws that hold the top cover on you will see what I'm talking about. The screw driver you will need is a little larger (I think a T-20) and don't remove the screw, only loosen it.

I have to remove the cover often to remove thread wrap-ups and oil the needle bar. Good luck, Bob. Answered on Feb 05, 2018 32 views.
