Group, Sorry that I am so tech-clueless. I have about a 2 year old Garmin Nuvi that is great for US travels. I will be in Italy this year and plan to drive at least one trip. After total frustration w/o GPS before in Italy, I will bring mine, rent, or buy one there.

Choices: Download current Italy maps onto my Garmin Nuvi 750 ahead of time so that I arrive and have GPS right away? I see some say buy a CD/DVD, others say go on Amazon (or EBay) and buy an 'SD.' I've looked at Amazon and Garmin.com and see I can buy an Italy/ map 'SD/Micro SD' (HUH? What is that? How do I know if mine takes SD or Micro SD?) for about $40 or an all-Europe one for about $90. There's also a used one for sale.

Fuji Xerox Docucentre Iv C2263 Driver there. Would you buy used? Does that mean they installed it on another Garmin, and you can install it on as many as you want? First: what the heck is an SD?

How to actually install it in my Garmin? Second: While I took my Garmin out tonight to figure all this out, I just got a message that I need to purchase new US updates.I thought US updates were free and automatic. Are these things basically obsolete after just a few years?

Third: Is it better to just buy a GPS in Italy on arrival this next time? They're probably $150 or less, I'd guess, so I'd buy rather than rent one from a rental car company, if I don't do this 'SD' to include Euro maps onto mine. Thanks, Lana.

'SD' is a kind of memory card, as used in many digital cameras. Garmin sell these cards loaded with maps rather than photos.

You just plug it into a slot on your GPS. Look at your user manual to see whether your Garmin takes SD or Micro SD. (Or the Garmin web site may tell you). Skin Pack Keren Terbaru Untuk Windows 7. I would not buy a second-hand card. It will not have the latest maps. Why spend $150 to get another GPS when you can buy maps for the one you already have?

You know how to use the Garmin: do you want to have to figure out how to use something else, starting with how to change it from Italian to English? I don't know what Garmin's policies are in USA, but no GPS sold in Australia comes with an unlimited number of updates. After a year or two, users have to pay for updates. Hi, Sydneynick, The $40 used all-Europe SD sounded too good to be true when a new one is $90. I see that the maps are 2011.
